Cook Books I’ve Worked On
Written, Edited, Sub-Edited, or Styled by Donna Britt
Cookin’ It With Kix
I co-authored this book with country music superstar Kix Brooks. I also tested every single recipe and did the food styling for every food photo in the book. It’s a fun one full of great southern recipes and lots of ideas for outdoor entertaining. My connection with Kix began as his producer for his long-running syndicated radio show “American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks”. We often talked about food and eating in the studio and one thing led to another...
The Cash & Carter Family Cookbook
I was the editor, recipe tester and food stylist for this very special collection of recipes from the legendary (Johnny) Cash & his wife June Carter. I worked directly with their son John Carter Cash, testing each of the recipes, proofreading/editing each recipe and doing the food styling for the photo shoot. Tambi Lane was the photographer and we shot the entire book on location at the Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, TN.
Small Changes
I was the recipe tester/editor and food stylist for this health-conscious debut book from actress Alicia Witt. Her granola recipe is the absolute best I’ve ever made/eaten – YUM!!
Cooking with Nonna
I was what is called the sub editor for this cookbook. This meant I went over the recipes with a fine tooth comb, checking for spelling, grammar, errors, phrasing, etc. In a cookbook it’s very important that recipes be consistent throughout, adhering to the publication’s style guide, and making sure the ‘voice’ of the writer is carried throughout. That was my job on this book. Working directly with author Rossella Rago was creative, inspiring and spicy (in a good way!).
Check out Tambi Lane Photography, my dear friend and foodie partner. Together Tambi and I have worked on many cookbooks, articles, blogs and tons more!

the recipe. ”
